Castaic Lake Fishing Report 10/10/2021

Lots of wind lately as the Fall transition begins. Cooling water temps have the fish scattered anywhere from the shoreline to thirty feet deep. Senko’s, dropshot rigs and Carolina rigs continue to excel with just about any finesse plastic bait getting the job done. There has been a pretty good jig bite along the rocky dropoffs and a few swimbait fish for those putting in the time.

Striped Bass:

Still just fair this week with smaller Stripers dominating the counts. Trolling Alabama rigs with small swimbaits on the business end in the forebay area is pretty much the only steady bite going, but some big fish have been caught on larger glide baits recently, hopefully pointing to the bigger fish making their Fall appearance sooner than later.

Castaic Afterbay:

No report. Launching bigger boats is an issue. Better to call ahead and find out the daily conditions. (661) 257-4050
