Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy Weight Soft Jerkbait delivers the same unique performance as the original Sakamata Shad but loaded with salt to make it heavier and allow anglers to target deeper sections of the water column and give better castability.
It’s unique body shape and hydrodynamic profile has low water flow resistance, which makes it easy to perform a side-to-side darting action, even with the slightest twitches from the rod tip to trigger aggressive reaction strikes. The keeled fins along the head also channel water downward and force the bait upward to mimic a shad jumping on the surface to avoid predators.
The fins act as stabilizers when paused and allow the bait to fall perfectly horizontal and the heavy salt content poured into the belly of the bait creates a subtle wiggling action on the fall, similar to a soft stickbait.
Offered in multiple colors and sizes, the Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy Weight Soft Jerkbait is a new take on the classic soft jerkbait to give the fish a new look.

The Deps Sakamata Shad design of the body is smooth and creates low water resistance making it easy for the bait to dart side-to-side. It can be fished quickly to generate reaction bites.
The salt content varies based on the size of the bait (8inch = 5%, 6inch / 5inch = 10%, 4inch = 5%) and the material has strength and holds hooks securely, which reduces tearing and breaking.
The Keel is the secret for the unique jumping dirt action of Sakamata Shad. It allows the water to flow and creates a unique jumping action. It also acts as a rudder to create better darting action.
