Salas 7X Light Surface Irons

The Salas 7X Light Surface Iron is one of the most iconic surface irons in existence. It's easy to fish and like all Salas, it gets bit.  Cast it as far as you can, let it sink for a couple seconds, and then a nice steady retrieve back.  Not too slow and not too fast, just enough so that a methodical erratic action takes place.  

Salas is hand made in Southern California and has been proven time and time again.  Each one has superior paint jobs and a thick clear coat that will stand up over time but even if the paint comes off, they still get bit.  We've found they get bit even better when the paint has scratches and looks a little beat up.  Yellowtail have teeth and can be very aggressive, this over time will remove the paint and clear coat.  Many panga fisherman like to scrape them on the launch ramp to get some of the paint off.  

Try out different colors, fish will eat them all but sometimes they will bite one color more than another.  We generally like to fish darker colors in low light conditions and lighter colors when there is more sun.
