The Shimano Curado 200K is the next generation of Shimano's workhorse, best-selling line of casting reels. It brings with it many improvements over the Curado I. It features the new and improved SVS Infinity braking system. The brake blocks on the previous system had a tendency to produce a high pitched noise when not lubricated properly; the new brake blocks feature a new design with new materials that will not do this. It also features Shimano's Micro Module Gearing. This was previously only available in the higher end reels such as the Metanium. Micro Module Gearing is a larger gear with smaller, and more teeth to the gear. This provides a much smoother and powerful retrieval. The body of the reel itself has also shrunk while maintaining the capacity of true 200 sized reel. It is now much more palmable. Last but not least, the Curado now comes in a blazing fast 8.5:1 gear ratio!
