The Phenix Black Diamond East Coast Spinning Rods are light weight and powerful. The balance on the rod is very good with a little weight in the butt to balance it out. The carbon fiber butt section is aesthetically nice but it also grips well even when wet.
Installed is a composite/metal reel seat made by Essex which is light weight, strong and conforms to the reel keeping it snug. The aluminum Sagittarius reel seat is only available on some models but is very durable and is sure not to fail.
Attention to the hypalon forgrip made for finger hold spots making it ergonomic and reduces slipping. Using Alconite guides, the first guide is a double foot and the remaining are single foot guides keeping it light and balanced. With forward facing guides, braided line is sure to slip off if a wind knot occurs.
