The Lead Masters Shrimp Fly hooks are fantastic for rock fishing on the west coast. We tie these to our dropper loop rig with a weight on the bottom and do very well on all species of rock cod including ling cod.
Rest assured the hooks are strong and these are very well built. One can put a strip of squid or bait on the rig but we find that the Berkley Mullet works great in conjunction with the shrimp fly. Simply thread the 3" Berkley Mullet over the hook and drop it down.
